Die syrischen Behörden haben nach eigenen Angaben ein hochrangiges Mitglied der Jihadistenmiliz Islamischer Staat (IS) festgenommen. Hamza Abdullah Mohammed, genannt Abu Jihad al-Muhadshir, sei von Sicherheitskräften in der Provinz Aleppo im Norden des Landes gefasst worden, teilte das syrische Innenministerium am Dienstag mit. Er sei zuletzt der IS-Kommandant für die Region um die Hauptstadt Damaskus gewesen.
